Dartmouth hockey historian Martin Jones featured on Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada

After watching this video clip on Dartmouth's birthplace of hockey title, be sure to visit Martin Jones' hockey history website: and don't forget to read his page on Dartmouth's Starr Manufacturing. Starr produced the world's first modern skates.

  1. Robert Bannerman, a Nova Scotia native and Commissioner of the Australian Ice Hockey League, loaned me Martin Jones' book on the claims of Dartmouth as hockey's birthplace. Robert's journey from your frozen lakes to lead a national league so far from home down under may be worth some investigation. - Will Brodie, author of Reality Check: Travels in the Australian Ice Hockey League
